Zeus is the "Father of Gods and men" who rules the Olympians of Mount
Olympus as a father rules the family according to the ancient Greek
religion. He is the god of sky and thunder in Greek mythology, and,
under Hellenic influence, became particularly closely identified with
the Roman god Jupiter. Zeus overthrew his Father Cronus. He then drew
lots with his brothers Poseidon and Hades, when he won the draw Zeus
became the supreme ruler of the gods. Zeus is often seen wielding the
thunderbolt as his weapon, which he hurls at those who displease him.
